Abbey St Bathans
Abbey St.Bathans is a small village situated directly on the Southern Upland Way between Longformacus and Cockburnspath.
Abbey St Bathans is a traditional farming village in a wooded valley about one hour’s drive south east of Edinburgh. Bronze age tools unearthed near Abbey St.Bathans indicate the possibility that the area has been in continuous habitation for 4000 years. The area around Abbey St.Bathans also contains remains of Edins Hall Broch, about 2000 years old, the foundations of a first millennium Celtic era Christian church and a holy well.
The Southern Upland Way runs through Abbey St.Bathans which is an accommodation location for the route.
