Ae Forest Cottages are situated at Gubhill Farm, a small 60 acre unit with 15 acres of newly planted broadleaf woodland, 20 acres of lowland field and 25 acres of hill land. The farm is being managed along ecologically friendly lines. Traditional hedges and field margins are being planted.

Our three cottages, Shepherd's Cottage, Stockman's Cottage and new for 2008, The Hay Loft form part of a traditional farm steading at the head of a secluded and unspoiled valley beside a massive forest in South West Scotland.

The Shepherds Cottage, centrally heated accommodation comprises: living room/dining room, open plan kitchen; double bedroom, second bedroom with full-sized twin beds (cot and high chair available on request) and bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The flat is well equipped (electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, kettle, coffee percolator, radio, colour television and vacuum cleaner).

The Stockman's Cottage, accommodation comprises: living room/dining room, open plan kitchen; double bedroom, second bedroom with twin beds (cot and high chair available on request) and shower-room. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The flat is well equipped (electric hob, microwave/ convection oven, fridge, washing machine (in outbuilding), kettle, radio, colour television and vacuum cleaner).

The Hay Loft , newly opened in 2008 is a 4 bedroomed cottage is ideal for larger parties. The sleeping accomodation is on the ground floor and comprises 2 double and 2 twin rooms.  There is also a shower room and and separate toilet.  Access to the first floor is via an open oak staircase. The living area consists of a large sitting room with woodburning stove, open-plan to a dining/kitchen area.  There is a television (with freeview) and dvd player. The kitchen is fully equiped with fridge/feezer, dish washer, electric cooker, microwave, etc.  There is also a large bathroom with shower on this floor. The cottage is well insulated and has underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs (plus the stove).  It is very cosy. As with the other cottages, The Hay Loft has access to the laundry room and games hall.

There are streams, hills, gravel roads, footpaths, bike tracks and quiet lanes that you can enjoy as peacefully or energetically as you wish. Dogs, cats, children & horses are very welcome and invariably have a great time.......often with our dogs, cats, children and horses.
