Description
Located within the Galloway Forest Park, the Forest of Ae lies to the north of Dumfries in the catchment of the Water of Ae. Predominantly a coniferous forest, the Forest of Ae has a number of waymarked cycle routes. There is also an open air collection of historic forestry ploughs, some of which were used locally by the Clarks of Parkgate. The SCU and BCF use the forest for competitive Mountain Biking events.
