Self Catering Scottish Holiday House in Rockcliffe, Dumfries & Galloway Situated in its own well stocked private grounds in Rockcliffe, this elegant and spacious detached house makes an ideal base for a family holiday in this area.

Accessed off a quiet lane, and within walking distance of the beach, the house is perfectly situated and commands superb open views over the bay to Hestan Island and the sea beyond.

Rockcliffe is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Solway Coast. Quietly situated at the end of the road and with fabulous views, walks and a safe sandy beach, there is something for everyone.

The adjacent village of Kippford, on the estuary of the River Urr, is the sailing centre for Dumfries and Galloway with a thriving yacht club holding annual dinghy races and events and there are two pubs on the front both serving food. You can also take a delightful walk between the two villages through land owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

Golf courses abound in the area including the championship links course at Southerness. The local stage of the 7Stanes mountain bike network is within a 15 minute drive of the house and there are excellent opportunities for walkers and for wildlife enthusiasts at nearby Mersehead Reserve operated by the RSPB and, slightly further afield, at Caerlaverock.
