Auldgirth is situated half way between Dumfries and Thornhill, on the A76 road to Kilmarnock. Auldgirth is a small village, with a general groceries store and the Auldgirth Inn. Local activities include fishing, walking, with mountain biking trails and bike hire available at Drumlanrig Castle.
