Bar Hill Lodge is an unique detached 19th century lodge, within secluded grounds, bounded by the Cally Woods and Fleet Forest. At the end of a short track, this idyllic hideaway is a private and peaceful retreat, yet only 2 miles from Gatehouse of Fleet with its shops, crafts and restaurants.

Bar Hill Lodge has a large enclosed wildflower and meadow garden to the rear, with views of the rolling hills of Galloway beyond. Older children will enjoy adventures in the woodland garden to the front, complete with trampoline. Recently restored and furnished to a high standard, Bar Hill Lodge has a spacious living/dining room, with cosy open fire, CD player, TV/video and sofa bed (sleeps two); fully equipped and modern kitchen with breakfast bar; conservatory with views of the gardens; double bedroom and bathroom with toilet. Upstairs is an attic bedroom with twin beds.

To help you enjoy your stay, books, local maps and information, games and toys are provided. A haven for wildlife,
Bar Hill Lodge is ideally situated for walking and cycling. Walks and cycle trails, which lead through the forest and down to the coast, are literally on your doorstep! Cycle hire in nearby Castle Douglas. Large sandy beaches of Sandgreen and Carrick, with its rock pools, nearby, and golf, riding, water sports on Loch Ken, fishing (lake and sea), all within easy reach.

Dogs welcome.
