Self Catering Scottish Holiday Cottage near Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway. A 17th Century former mill cottage in idyllic surroundings in an acre of ground with fine views to the West, popular for exploration by foot, bicycle or car. The cottage is on the Red Kite trail and within easy reach of the Galloway Forest park.Coarse fishing on Woodhall Loch (just over the road), by permit only. Nearby Loch Ken, which is also an excellent coarse fishery, has the Galloway Activity Centre for dinghy, windsurfing and canoe instruction / hire plus other activities and the Loch Ken Marina with waterskiing. The hills and wonderful coastline are all within an easy drive of the cottage. The Food Town of Castle Douglas is within a 15min drive.
