Clarence Cottage is situated in the quiet village of Clarencefield, with lovely views over the Solway Coast and Criffel, when weather permits!

This annex comprises a bedroom with a King size bed (and which could accommodate a cot if required), a shower room and a fully equipped dining kitchen. The property has its own entrance. Outside is a mature garden, garden furniture and parking space.

The area is steeped in history. Clarence Cottage dates to at least 1799 and has connections with Rev Henry Duncan, the Craigs of Ruthwell, the Rev Robert M’Cheyne and Captain Burns, son of Robert Burns. The local pub, The Farmers’ Inn which serves enjoyable lunches and bar suppers, was regularly frequented by the Bard. Other pubs and hotels close by are easily accessible by car. Brow Well and Ruthwell Cross are both within a short walking distance.

We can offer this self catering unit at a very reasonable price for a minimum of two nights. Situated in the same village as Comlongon Castle, this is an affordable option for wedding guests..

Fine rural walks with the opportunity to observe the wild life and birds, and cycle routes are in close proximity. There is a regular bus service to Dumfries, Annan and Carlisle.

So leave the hustle and bustle behind and come and experience this delightful country retreat which promotes calmness and tranquillity. You will be very welcome.
