Drumlamford Estate is a large private country estate of some 1500 acres and three private lochs (pike fishing in one of them) lying 12 miles north of the small market town of Newton Stewart on the River Cree (shops, hotels, good fishing, luxury mohair goods) and 5 miles south of Barrhill (shop, pubs and small railway station) in the wooded uplands of The Galloway Forest Park, home of 2 of the world famous 7stanes mountain bike trails .

'Bonnie Galloway' is celebrated the world over for its serene and gracious countryside which rises from the sandy coves and mudflat estuaries (marvellous for bird-watching and sailing) of the Solway Firth to the rolling farmlands, high green hills and hidden lochs of The Galloway Forest Park so beloved by fishermen, walkers and cyclists - everyone who appreciates luminous landscapes and SPACE.

Golfers can play many small country courses, with famous Turnberry, venue of the 2009 British Open Golf Championship, some 20 miles up the coast. Artists will want to paint, visit Kirkcudbright and admire the lovely gardens and mansions. History buffs will be hard put to visit all the castles and sites (including the reputed cave of Robert The Bruce's famous spider) that remind us of this area's very bloody history. Motor-racing fans may want to visit David Coulthard's village of Tywnholm - and some may fancy a day-trip to Ireland on the Jetliner from Cairnryan.
