Galashiels
 Galashiels has been the centre of the tartan, tweed and woollen industries since medieval times and is one of the largest towns in the Borders.
Galashiels' past is recreated every June during the Braw Lad’s Gathering.
Also the site of ‘Old Gala House’ school in Galashiels was reputedly the inspiration behind the St. Trinian’s series.
The Southern Upland Way runs through Galashiels which is an accommodation location for the route.
