Description

Located on a small farm nestling between Dalbeattie forest and the River Urr estuary, our heated Wigwams (they look like big timber tents) provide a comfortable alternative to camping.

We are a great base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway, being centrally located along the Solway Estuary, close to panoramic beaches, local towns, attractions and numerous places of interest.

Enjoy the freedom to wander around the farm trails and woodlands. With our own access to Dalbeattie Forest explore the hundreds of miles of tracks on bike, foot or horseback.

Just bring your sleeping bag or duvet and camp food - or enjoy the local take-aways, pubs and restaurants.

The picturesque coastal village of Kippford is only 1.5 miles away, with marina, pubs and a small café/shop.

For cyclists:

Dalbeattie 7 Stanes mountain bike trail only 250 mtrs, excellent for riders of all levels.
Centrally located for access to Mabie, Ae and Kirroughtree 7 Stanes trails.
3 miles from National Cycle Route 7.
Cycle stores for parts, service and hire in Dalbeattie (1.5 miles) and Castle Douglas (8 miles).
We offer a collection service from Dumfries station (14 miles away) for a small charge.

For nature lovers:

The farm is a wildlife haven, many animals and birds are regularly seen (Roe Deer, fox, rabbit, badgers, heron, Barn Owl, buzzards, bats).
RSPB reserves at nearby Mereshead and Rough Island.
Stunning cliff side walks.
Red Kite Trail.
Red Squirrel walk in Dalbeattie forest.
Red Deer & mountain goat viewing in the Galloway Forest Park.

For horse riders:

Horse owner? Why not bring your horse for a break at Gorsebank. We have full equestrian facilities on site, including modern, spacious stabling, all weather arena and 22 fence cross country course.
We benefit from excellent off road hacking, including a half day route to take in a ride on the beach.
