High Kirkland is a small holiday development consisting
of three high quality self-catering units converted from the house and
buildings of what was previously a small croft approximately 1 mile from the attractive coastal town of Kirkcudbright,
tucked away in rural South West Scotland.
As the farmlands associated with High Kirkland
were long ago absorbed into another nearby farm, the cottages have now
an air of country solitude and tranquility. Whilst surrounded by
green fields where local Galloway cattle are raised, they are without
the farmyard noise and activity often encountered with renovated farm
cottages.
Everything is provided for your holiday
accommodation except linen, top & bottom sheets, pillow-cases,
towels and tea-towels. The cot has a mattress only. A linen hire service
is available, and groceries can be ordered, but both must be arranged in
advance.
As well as our cottages, there is an additional
utility room with tumble-dryer, cycle lock-up and drying facilities. There is ample car parking at the door of each
cottage.
Cottage No.1
This very
attractive and well appointed cottage has everything you would need to
accommodate a large family for a holiday or short break.
On two
floors, the cottage comprises of a large and airy lounge room, a spacious
dining room with a fully equipped kitchen, one double-bedded and three twin
bedded bedrooms, and a twin bedded children's bedroom with cot. There is also a
bathroom and a shower room, each with toilets and wash-hand basins.
The lounge
room is substantial and well appointed, and is bright and sunny with a large
picture window. It has an electric fire, colour television and video recorder.
The dining
room is spacious with a large dining table seating up to ten people
comfortably, and the adjoining all-electric kitchen is fully equipped with microwave,
cooker, automatic washing machine, fridge-freezer etc. In addition there is a
shared external utility room which has a tumble dryer, cycle lock-up and drying
facilities.
The cottage
has a total of five bedrooms. On the
ground floor is a double bedroom, and a large and light twin bedded room
accessed by a three-step staircase. On the first floor there is a second
twin bedded room, and a third twin-bedded room also has a children's room off. The
children's room is equipped with twin beds and a cot, and is large, attractive
and safe.
The cottage
has two toilet rooms, one with a full size bath and the other with a shower.
Both are on the ground floor.
All beds
have duvets and covers; other linen such as sheets, pillowcases, towels, etc
can be hired at a small extra cost by prior arrangement. The cottage has double
glazing throughout, and has oil central heating with radiators in each
room.
One dog may
be allowed, but by arrangement only.
