Hillhead Cottage offers a high standard of accommodation in a
delightfully quiet and peaceful rural situation, together with
magnificent views across a river valley towards the hills of the
Galloway Forest Park beyond.
There is much to see and do in this area
(known as the Machars of Wigtownshire) such as bird watching,
forest/hill walking, fishing and simply admiring the unspoilt
landscape. Short drives will take you to golf courses, lochs, the
market town of Newton Stewart, Wigtown (Scotland's Book Town) and
Whithorn where there is a famous archaeological site dating back to the
arrival of Christianity there in the 4th century. The sea, glorious
sandy beaches, sailing and other water sports are also a short drive
away.
All on ground floor: lounge (double bed settee,
choice of open fire heating radiators, or electric fire);
kitchen/diningroom; bathroom and 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin).
