holiday in this area. From the garden one can look out across Wigtown
Bay to the Galloway hills beyond and within a few yards of the cottage
is the start of a delightful woodland walk along the edge of the rocky
shore.
The nearby village of Garlieston, 2.5 miles, has an hotel and two small general stores.
A
delightful, safe sandy beach can be accessed on foot through the wooded
grounds of the Galloway House Estate just on the edge of the village
and in the village itself is a small harbour for working and pleasure
craft.
Located in one of the most unspoilt areas of Southern
Scotland, the peninsula on which the cottage is situated has several
interesting towns and villages to visit with many activities and
facilities for the holidaymaker, all within easy access of the cottage.
