Kippford, recognised historically for its ship-building and fishing activity, is a picturesque village consisting of elegantly painted houses, a sailing equipment shop, yacht club and two welcoming pubs and is most commonly recognised as a hub for yachting and attracts many visitors through its annual Regatta.
Breathtaking views (Rockcliffe), spectacular walks (Kippford, Mabie Forest and Dalbeattie), superb cycling routes including one of the World famous 7stanes mountain biking centres and scenic beaches are available at Kippford, in abundance. There is also an array of spectacular golf courses (Colvend, Craigieknowes and Dalbeattie are all within three miles of Kippford) and local fishing spots. For those who wish to venture a little further out, explore the Galloway Forest Park and the activities around Loch Ken and don’t neglect the exquisite Threave Garden!
You'll also find a delightful range of arts and crafts in the Kippford area... in the most unusual places!
