Local Weather

The weather in southern Scotland, like every part of the UK can be very mixed.

However an often overlooked fact is that southern Scotland and particularly the west coast areas benefit from the effects of the Gulf Stream. This means that the average temperatures are generally a few degrees higher than other parts of Scotland. Palm trees are grown in the Rhins of Galloway and frosts and heavy snow falls are a rarity.

So, because we cannot guarantee the weather, we suggest you come prepared for both the weather and the certainty of a great time, whatever.
