by permit. There is also a sailing centre with outdoor activities on
the loch plus a marina with water ski instruction. The quiet roads in
this area provide excellent opportunities for walking and cycling and
the nearby hills, with their numerous forest tracks plus the nearby
Southern Upland Way, give access to the most wonderful unspoilt upland
country with a huge variety of wildlife including red kites. Several
interesting towns and villages are within easy reach and the Solway
Coast, with numerous sandy beaches, is within easy access.
