Holiday Cottages
are situated on a working farm and with beautiful views of the surrounding
hills, these two very attractive, single-storey barn conversions, each with
their own hot tubs, enjoy a peaceful, secluded location with over 400 acres of
natural countryside to explore from the door.
For families, there is a children’s
welcome pack that encourages children to do something nature-based every day,
from a bug walk through to farm trails, and even helping on the farm, feeding
the animals. The farm itself has picnic areas for visitors to enjoy.
There are various walks available,
from scenic coastal walks to marked forest trails, while for mountain bikers the
Dalbeattie Forest boasts a world class Mountain Bike Trail, part of the 7stanes
with several levels ranging from easy to severe. With cycling, riding, fishing,
golf, sailing and water sports close by there is sure to be something for
everyone.
The Solway coast has many extensive
sandy beaches. Kirkcudbright, the artists’ town, has galleries, antique shops
and cafes while Castle Douglas is a traditional market town with many local
foods available. Pub ¾ mile.
