Peacefully located in farmland and approached via a
track, the bungalow provides a perfect base for many activities
including ornithology, boating, water sports, fishing (with nearby
slipway), golf (nearest course two miles - seven within 25 mile
radius), pony trekking, exploring the Rhinns peninsular with its world
famous gardens, or simply relaxing and watching the many ships sailing
to and from Ireland.
Other places of interest include:- Whithorn Dig,
Logan Fish Pond, Portpatrick with its harbour and various attractions,
nearby sandy beaches, Southern Upland Way, Ryan Leisure Centre and many
other facilities in Stranraer. Day trips to Belfast with optional
excursions to see the Giants Causeway and the Distilleries, are
available from local companies.
Kirkcolm village, less than 2 miles
along Loch Ryan"s shoreline past the slipway and the Wig (a location
used by many twitchers to observe the excellent variety of birds), has
a Post Office/General Store/Newsagent and two hotels. Lucky patrons of
the Blue Peter may see red squirrels in the beer garden while supping a
pint of real ale!
The property has the added advantage of a large
games room including the Pool Table (coins not required) Nintendo games
console and games with its own TV and VCR. The gardens are completely
enclosed, and relatively untamed, for use by energetic children. The
cleaning company is available for extra cleaning by local agreement -
see notice board.
On the ground floor a spacious
lounge/dining room (colour TV, DVD,VCR and portable CD/cassette radio),
deluxe fitted kitchen with small breakfast table and four chairs, 2
large double bedrooms (one with cot) 1 twin bedroom (3 foot bunk beds
), bathroom with shower bath ( thermostatically controlled pressure
shower ) / toilet / hand basin and heated towel rail, additional toilet
with hand basin, cloakroom with freezer and overflow fridge.
The
first floor has one bedroom with twin beds, a shower room ( electric
shower ) with WC, hand basin and heated towel rail, a large games room
with colour TV, Nintendo games console with two games pads and a number
of games, and pub style pool table ( no coins required ). There is a
large collection of Lego, many books and other games for children.
The
utility room has an external entrance. In addition to housing the
washing machine and tumble dryer, it is used to store the BBQ and
garden furniture when not in use.
