Set high upon the hill above the Old Glen just 2 miles
west of Dumfries town centre, Millhill
Farm is a luxury farmhouse bed and breakfast. Millhill Farm is a
small working farm with free range British saddleback pigs, beef cattle, sheep
and turkeys at Christmas time.
At
Millhill Farm we also keep horses and can cater for equine visitors if
required. Our hacking is on quiet lanes and we are ideally situated to explore
Dumfries and Galloway on horseback.
We
specialise in catering for the needs of visitors to the nearby 7stanes mountain
bike trails with 3 of the 5 Dumfries & Galloway trails within 15 miles of
Millhill Farm. We also welcome visitors who wish to partake in the many outdoor
pursuits for which our area is famous. Be it walking on the nearby Southern
Upland Way or exploring the many woodland walks of the Galloway Forest Park we
will be delighted to have you stay with us.
The
accommodation at Millhill Farm has been purposely built in a way to make guests
feel welcome and as if they have their own part of the house to relax in.
Everything has been chosen with great care to make sure our guests only have
the very best.
Our 2 en
suite rooms are furnished with high quality beds, mattresses and furniture and
are tastefully decorated. Our bed linen is all pure Egyptian cotton, as
are the fluffy towels and bathrobes. Each bathroom has complimentary toiletries
and both bathrooms have heated floors.
The Garden room is on the ground
floor and overlooks the side garden. This room has a double bed and a
contemporary shower room with an enormous monsoon shower head over a large
enclosure (big enough for two!)
The Den is on the first
floor at the top of its own staircase. This room has a beautiful King-size
Mahogany Sleigh bed with a cosy natural stone tiled bathroom with a large
Jacuzzi bath in the bay of the window. This bedroom has particularly lovely
views of Dumfries and the hills beyond.
The
Dining Room is a light and airy dining room with the benefit of fabulous views
over Dumfriesshire. The oak floored room opens out into the garden which is a
fabulous sun trap and on warm mornings you can choose to have your breakfast on
the terrace.
Within
the dining room there are armchairs and a sofa for guest’s sole use if you wish
to relax by the Wood burning Stove.
