A traditional former schoolhouse situated in a superb location in
the village with direct access to the extensive sandy beach and with
panoramic views over Luce Bay. The house was fully refurbished,
reequipped and redecorated in 2006 and provides excellent family
accommodation in one of the most unspoilt parts of Scotland. The
village has a general store and a poular pub serving food. The nearby
town of Stranraer provides supermarkets and a good variety of shops, a
swimming pool and leisure centre, and several hotels and restaurants.
The
area has a lot to see and do. The Botanic Gardens at Port Logan, The
Mull of Galloway with its lighthouse and visitor centre, historic sites
and delightful coastal villages. This is excellent walking and cycling
country, game and sea fishing opportunities abound ( with excellent
coarse fishing a little further afield ) and there are several golf
courses all within a half hours drive.
