Portpatrick is at the start of the Southern Upland Way which begins with a spectacular cliff path northwards. Going south, another cliff path soon takes you to the ruins of Dunskey Castle. In Portpatrick there are superb restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There is also well stocked gift and craft shops. Portpatrick harbour is ideal for a lazy time watching boats, including the Portpatrick lifeboat coming and going.
A few miles from Portpatrick, Stranraer has more restaurants and gift shops.
