Description
A ten-mile forestry road along the route of a drove-road used by reivers to smuggle stolen cattle. Made famous by S.R.Crockett's 1894 novel 'The Raiders'. Runs from a mile north of Mossdale Post Office on the A762 up to the Queen's Way near Clatteringshaws, beside Black Water of Dee. Major features on this forest drive include a variety of forest walks and cycle tracks, picnic sites at Stroan Loch and the Otter Pool, and an abundance of wildlife and forest sculptures. 20mph speed limit.
