Description The Mull of Galloway is the most southerly point in Scotland. From the lichen-encrusted cliffs the breathtaking views look towards Ireland the Isle of Man and England. Thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. 2,000 pairs of Guillemots, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Shags, Razorbills, Black Guillemots and a few Puffins can all be seen from the reserve. Around the lighthouse there are Rock Pipits, Wheatears, Linnets and Stonechats and occasionally Twites can be seen. Sea Pink, spring Squill, Purple Milk Vetch and Sea Campion form a colourful carpet amongst which plenty of butterflies flutter. Harbour Porpoises are a common sight, whereas Dolphins, Seals, Otters and Minke Whale are also spotted. Scare rocks, rocky outcrops lying offshore hold more than 1,000 pairs of Gannets, hundreds of Guillemots and Grey Seals.
