Overlooking Loch Trool in the heart of the Galloway Forest Park, The Buchan provides modern, comfortable self catering accommodation for up to 8 people who have a sense of adventure and enjoy getting away from it all. Set in a remote, stunning location it offers exceptional opportunities for walking, bird watching or simply relaxing. There are also cycle tracks and fishing nearby.

Originally the Earl of Galloway's hunting lodge, this historic house offers life at a different pace. Its systems are entirely reliant on nature with its own hydro electricity and water supplies. It has full central heating, wood-burning stove and a large conservatory (with hot tub) allowing you to relax and enjoy the spectacular views and wildlife whatever the weather. There are over two acres of enclosed private land with a small burn and pond, with a "midge eater". Sheep and wildlife are all around so dogs must be kept under strict control.
