Thornhill (Drumlanrig)
Drumlanrig lies near Thornhill, a quiet village nestling in low hills, with 100-year-old lime trees alongside two of its roads. A column in the centre of Thornhill, erected in 1714 supports a majestic winged horse, emblem of the Dukes of Queensberry who own Drumlanrig Castle and the surrounding lands.
Thornhill is the perfect base for walking, in addition to its close proximity to the wonderful Drumlanrig Castle and country park. The town of Thornhill is also becoming increasing popular for property due its location on the A76, just 20 minutes from Dumfries and an hour's drive from Ayr and Glasgow.
