superb hill walking right into the wilds of the Galloway Hills and a
number of forest tracks for the less adventurous.
Nearby Newton
Stewart has a good selection of local shops plus several hotels and
pubs. It is also an excellent base for exploring this delightful area
of South West Scotland with a number of attractive coastal villages,
superb sea shore and many sandy beaches within a half hour drive.
Newton
Stewart has an excellent 18 hole golf course and there are a number of
other golf courses all within easy reach. Permits for game and coarse
fishing (in season) can be obtained locally. Water Sports are available
on Loch Ken and sea fishing trips can be arranged from Isle of Whithorn.
